Our house is empty of our personal belongings and our little stash of backpacks has been pulled out of Leo’s wardrobe to start packing. We’ve got our travel jabs (except rabies which we’ll get in SEA instead, thanks, since it would’ve cost us $500 each here!), six months worth of prescription medicine plus a spare prescription from our doctor (just in case) and a letter explaining why we have them, a first aid kit, torch, NZ sunscreen, DEET insect repellent, mosquito nets, and minimal clothing: one nice outfit for eating out, shorts, t shirts and skirts, one pair of trousers each, a rain jacket, a jumper, togs and underwear and a couple of travel towels plus our toiletries. We’re going to need to find places with washing machines along the way! Plus as extras, we thought we’d take our kids’ masks and snorkels for their entertainment.
